I agree with some commenters that this article has some very 'woke' conclusions which might over interpret what the children actually thought or did.
Nonetheless, I find it very concerning that multiple commenters here think, that trying to get children to share and play nice together is indoctrination/socialism/etc and that anything that isn't based on total self-reliance must be wrong.
- aksss 5y agoIt's not the sharing and playing nice together that people have issue with. I think you're misunderstanding the criticism.
- cwkoss 5y agoCan you distill the distinction? My read is that people who dislike this article are projecting a lot of McCarthism onto a fairly benign process of having children examine the fairness of the ad hoc system of lego 'ownership' that arose, and then prompting the children to agree on a set of rules that they would all believe are more fair. Claims of "indoctrination" sound farcical.
- fallingfrog 5y agoThere is a very distinct strain of American thought that says freedom means the biggest or richest get whatever they want. Which is ironic because that’s actually exactly what tyranny is. But in that framework, fairness is tyranny, because they see themselves as the strong and feel that it is their birthright to take what they want from those they see as weak.

- Inityx 5y agoWell its pretty apparent in the state of American society today, and exemplified by companies like Facebook and Tesla flagrantly and repeatedly violating the law without substantive consequence
