Not all corporations are evil; they're only as evil as the people running them. If you believe you can found a company that doesn't have NDAs and IP-ownership clauses, you can probably also find one that doesn't have those as well. You can go your own way and don't let anyone tell you not to. But it's certainly possible to have a meaningful life while working for someone.
