Pairing has worked fabulously for me and I started this comment by refuting individual sections of the post. But I then got the feeling that the author doesn't personally get much out of pairing. And that's perfectly fine by me. Forcing it defeats the purpose. I wish Matt had argued from a general point and not a personal one. The latter would lead to more stimulating discussions. Skimming through his blog, I see a lot of interesting and succinct thoughts.
