- Andaith 5y agoBut a person doesn't have the natural right to take from others and call it theirs. There are legal and illegal ways of earning money, and the possession of said money can be used as evidence of crime. Money Laundering is specifically the process of taking money that was acquired through illegal means and obfuscating how that money was acquired so that it can no longer be used as evidence of wrongdoing. It's a fancy way of saying "tampering with evidence".
