- eesmith 5y agoThis part? > NSA whistleblower John Kiriakou and Guantanamo Bay detention camp whistleblower Joseph Hickman have both accused the same reporter accused of revealing Winner's identity, Matthew Cole, of playing a role in their exposure, which, in Kiriakou's case, led to his imprisonment. I don't see where Kiriakou and Hickman were sources to The Intercept. Cole was involved in the recent episode at The Intercept, where NSA leaker Reality Winner was apprehended after Cole shared her leaked document in an effort to verify it. While Cole did not publish the name, his email exchange with Kiriakou was used as evidence against him. So while I see Cole burning several sources, I only see The Intercept burning one.

- eesmith 5y agosbierwagen wrote "Just like how The Intercept keeps burning its sources". I wanted to know more about the other sources they burned, because I hadn't heard of additional cases and wondered why they didn't learn from their experience.
