The description on the homepage goes to great lengths to explain and emphasise what GitBOM isn't. It does a comparatively poor job of explaining why one would need or want to use GitBOM. In other words: I know that GitBOM "co-exists with", "complements" and most certainly "is not" an SBOM, VCS or signing scheme - in what way does it complement those? What value does it add?
