I'll be honest, I'm less enthused about the Steam Deck than I was previously. I've heard reports that the screen is simply not very good, with limited color accuracy. Given that I'm used to carrying around a phone with a superb OLED display (though at well over double the price of the base Steam Deck, it had better be good), it may be tough to get used to.
Further, the reports I've seen indicate that even years-old games require low settings and 30fps caps, or running at sub-640p and using FSR to upscale. And all that with sub 2 hour battery life on some titles. It's understandable, I guess, that a handheld device with a 15w TDP will have limited power ... but I was hoping for a bit more, I guess.
And I have other nitpicks ... the glued on battery; Linux game compatibility; shoddy haptics.
I do agree that it's an absolute steal compared to competing devices, which offer similar or worse compromises at double the cost (or more).
