Lymerix was not an ideal vaccine (including to the degree to which it was effective) though it probably didn't deserve the degree of criticism nor should it probably have been discontinued for humans. Since that time Lyme has come to be seen as a more serious problem so even a less effective vaccine is probably better than nothing.
