U.S. detects highly lethal bird flu in Tyson Foods chickens
- TameAntelope 5y agoOkay, so what is the moral culpability of the reporter here when they fail to mention that this flu is currently only lethal to birds?! I got to the 4th paragraph before I read a sentence that mentioned that fact (obliquely even!): "They said it is Kentucky's first outbreak of the highly lethal bird flu, which killed more than 50 million U.S. chickens and turkeys in 2015." I mean geez, we're in a global pandemic, I think it's probably worth mentioning that this isn't "lethal" to humans as of yet... I expect more from Reuters, I'm surprised by this level of omission.
