For the same reason I donr want to be a manager. I care too much about people and their development. I mentor all sorts of people. I get annoyed when people don't care as greatly. I'd be a bad boss. People have better things to worry about. And I don't want to work 24h a day. I want to be able to take vacations. I want to cut myself off from work. I want to be able to stop thinking about work and engineering. It's become so that engineering has become a hobby for me. I want to stop that. There is a lot of other stuff I want to do that doesn't involve tech.
