"I’m smarter than you, so I’m going to pick your ideas apart and tell you exactly why you’re wrong." Early on, someone told me never to sell to IT, because IT types love to try and point out where you're wrong, and to catch you out (I'm one, I get it). Sell to business people instead - they're just looking for workable solutions to their problems, it's not (usually) a pissing contest.
