- motohagiography 5y agoThat's the hard part, but by recognizing that there exists a consensus reality that is unique to the relationships on the team, which produces the value of the business as an effect, this itself is a useful tool for determining whether you've got complete information. Most people won't challenge you on facts, they will challenge you on alignment and consequences. Btw, most people aren't anywhere near this meta about their jobs at all, but if you have ever recieved the advice to be easier to work with and responded with something along the lines of not realizing it was important to care what stupid people think, I'm suggesting there is a tool for navigating that by interpreting "business," and "political" dynamics as abstractions over complexity, and not just a lack of concrete facts or knowledge. And that I have perhaps come by this perspective honestly.
