Can someone explain why Russia put 150k troops on the border if they weren't trying to do anything?
> As you can see it even allows the US to claim "victory" when Russia stays put.
They announced a "pull back" today. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/15/ukraine-concerns-ease-on-report-of-partial-pullback-by-russian-troops.html https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/15/ukraine-concerns-ease-on-rep...
- mytailorisrich 5y agoOf course they are trying to do something (and so are the US). But what is it? Are they planning military action or doing a show of strength to send a message? I think propaganda and disinformation runs high on both sides at the moment so that it's not straightforward to get an idea of what is really going on.

- mytailorisrich 5y agoIt's best to be critical of what we're told either way... This includes wondering what it's in it for the US. I doubt it is Ukraine per se, and even if it is we can also wonder what the US are doing there so there is definitely more than meets the eye.
- long_time_gone 5y agoHas any of the new information changed your mind on this issue? It seems most of western intelligence was correct on Putin's actions and intentions.
