Honestly I can't say that I don't understand them. It's so easy to make good bots, and spam/automated propaganda is a HUGE problem on any social network. Also posting good (stolen) content automatically to farm karma to then be able to spam everywhere for a few hours is a very common tactic If I had to run a free social media like reddit I would do the same, you have no idea how hard it is to handle that imo
