I'm fascinated by browser tab hoarding... I recently started using a bookmarking app (one of the many, so many) because there were often one or two lingering tabs that I didn't want to close, and it was interfering with the way I normally clean up my screen. Normally, I close the entire browser and start fresh two or three times a day, during the workday. At night I turn the computer off, and start with a blank desktop the next morning.
