For what it's worth I haven't had an issue with Firefox for at least five years. And in the entire history of using Firefox I've never had a problem that was solved by a profile reset—though that might be because I'm a technically savvy user who can troubleshoot with relative ease. Any time I've tried switching away it's more to see if I'm missing out on something... and it turns out I'm not.
