The parisians surely can adjust to this reg by acting on time. What about the other europeans that posses a Ferrari or a Lamborghini and come with a lot of money to spend in?
This regulation is nonsense. Absolutely!
In Germany, we've a general regulation that a car mustn't be louder as ... If it is, it can't get the allowance to be used on the streets. The same applies to motorbikes.
Of course, here and then a small hole in the catalysator happens - but that is noisier and the guy's let repair it.
Does this mean, one Parisian can't by himself a Ferrari?? COMMUNISTS EVERYWHERE!!!!!
- sofixa 5y agoIt's the EU, so you can just buy/register your car/motorcycle in a country that doesn't care. And there's no problem with a Ferrari, but driving it fast/revving the engine would make too much noise, so it should be driven appropriately. Same with motorcycles, if they drive calmly and slowly most would pass. Noise pollution from motor vehicles is a terrible issue, so I'm glad something is done.
- theGeatZhopa 5y agoIt's the EU. You can't register that car in other countries. You can travel free, go to other EU State and stay there for 3 months, but then you need a staying permission. That's the same with cars. The holder must be known to state authorities. Its difficult to get the address for ticketing. That's not the way it works. You can buy it and you can drive it, But you need at least a number plate that shows where your car is from and that's the country where you live. Also, we have different laws in terms of speeding and France is very strict on this matter already. So, I can understand your point, but it seems you're not even living in EU and just speaking off your general experience with loud cars. It's not about revving, but more about that the cars are not being tuned in between the governed checks to be as loud as a Ferrari or being repaired in case of a small hole in the catalysator.. There is no point in that. A Ferrari is as loud as 75 db. A middle class limousine are mostly classified as 70db - which are allowed. So I take my car and get fined in Paris because they do the 55 db thing??? LOL?
- sofixa 5y agoI live in the EU, and I've switched countries within the EU. You don't need a permission to stay beyond 3 months, what are you talking about? Maybe a car does, but a human absolutely doesn't as a general rule ( e.g. in the Netherlands you need to register with the municipality after moving there, but that has nothing to do with the EU's right of movement).
- theGeatZhopa 5y agoE.g. in Germany you need to register and you can settle down only if you have a job and that job you only may get after a assessment of the job market. If you work self-employed than no problem. In Denmark is also little bit different.. But still, It was about cars ...
