Trust matters in relationships. Finding out that a working relationship started off with a lie is going to poison that relationship. I’d forever be wondering what other as shortcuts and risks they are taking. Are they taking shortcuts like incorporating code we don’t have rights to into the product? Will they some insecure shortcut and leave me vulnerable? More importantly, what would my customers think of they knew that the company they entrust their valuable data with was willing to continue to employ a person with such ethics? Honesty and integrity do matter. Trust matters.
