The CCLA denounces invocation of Emergencies Act
- version_five 5y agoThe first reply I saw on Twitter summarizes my sentiments: "Look who woke up" I gave regular donations to the CCLA during the first year of the pandemic because I saw them as a good check against government overreach and at the beginning they made a few noises about it. But they since went on to be basically silent as the government(s) had its way with civil liberties they thought were inconvenient (like preventing people from crossing provincial "borders"). I'm happy the CCLA noticed this, I hope they get back on track and start actually fighting for out liberties in what has been an unprecedented assault on them.
