The difficultly will automatically scale as soon as this hardware is in miners' hands. It only means that Intel also gets to profit from the fall of global electricity and waste from power production.

- tromp 5y ago“We expect that our circuit innovations will deliver a blockchain accelerator that has over 1000x better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining,” Raja Koduri, Intel’s senior vice president, explains in the announcement. Nobody cares about mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining; that station was passed nearly a decade ago. The nearest rival would be something like a Bitmain S19 Pro.
