Google Messages is now Samsung’s default messaging app in the US
- Victerius 5y agoIs this in response to the recent WSJ article about Apple's green bubbles for Android texts and its impact on young people?
- softwarebeware 5y agoKind of, I think. I don't think it is directly related to the WSJ article, but it has to do with the general issue around the perception of texting on an iOS device as a superior experience to texting on an Android device. Google has been trying to get the phone networks to standardize on RCS for years, as a replacement protocol for SMS, and to add some similar features familiar to users of iMessage like typing indicators.
