Great read! I had no idea that JLC invented the keyless works mechanism. I love mechanical watches and wear one virtually every day... I find it whimsical that I'm still one of the more punctual people that I know even though I wear an anachronistic timekeeping device that can gain or lose anywhere from two to thirty-five seconds a day (depending on the movement) :P
- hangonhn 5y agoSame here. I love mechanical watches. It’s clearly a dead end road for their original purpose but I love the creativity in pushing the limits of what is possible with mechanical means. It’s a bit steam punk and romantic. I’m really excited in see what comes next with more companies going in-house as ETA/Swatch restrict the sale of ébauches movements.
