I guess the plan would be to base pricing in such a way that it will incentivise good behaviour? For example, a journey distance of 1 mile or less could be made so expensive that people choose to walk instead.
- Sebb767 5y agoBut this could also horribly backfire, with people driving ten miles to get gas or to the shopping center across town.
- jtc331 5y agoExactly. GP assumes there are only two alternative goods, but like almost every well-intentioned idea it doesn’t actually take into account human behavior and how artificially changing demand for one thing can have really bad consequences.
