I have a question. Does the US govt have an obligation to return the stolen bitcoin to bitfinex? I would imagine they do but yet I don't expect them to.

- ggm 5y agoI also wondered this. Mt Gox, the siezure was at a specific point, the subsequent pay-out was a HODL delight. This one, If you had notified a competent authority of the theft, and then could cash out at the current level, you'd want it to be similar scale payout. But what if they can demonstrate a lack of AML/KYC for the specific BTC? (have not got any stake in this btw. purely academic interest)
