Yeah the real contrarian views have the most downvotes. You shouldn't be reading the most voted post.
- lamontcg 5y agoI'm not even addressing that, I'm addressing the intellectual fetish with contrarianism, and the assumption that contrarian takes are correct and more intelligent and people seek them out and aren't actually capable of doing due diligence on them. And then there's the flip point that unpopular opinions usually garner lots of popularity in the right groups and it isn't typically courageous to hold them. One point is about correctness, the other point is about social popularity. And to reinforce that, your assertion that reading the most downvoted comments are worth your time and implicitly where the correct views are is poor.
