The HN comments section is far less knowledgeable than generally perceived. (I realized this after seeing comments made on some topics I think I've reached domain expertise on and realizing there's a lot of confident opinions thrown around that's just plain incorrect.)
- v-erne 5y agoThis sounds like more specific version of my view - that most people, even the ones that are supposed to be the most knowledgeable, most of the times really don't know what are they talking about (and really its not their fault - the system is just too complex for any single one of us to understand what is really happening). For me this is especially true for any kind of social or economic topics (Feynman expressed this point of view wonderfully: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkFPCTwPlkU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkFPCTwPlkU)
