Say what you like, but Uber made taxi approachable for regular folks in my country. Before Uber, taxi was THE LAST RESORT where a short (5 km) ride would cost you 10% of minimal wage.
So I say, keep the lie going, because people who can’t afford a car, and towns without good public transport now are mobile.
- mytailorisrich 5y agoUber has dragged the taxi industry screaming and kicking into the 21st century (use of apps, payments by card, etc). To me this is a textbook example of positive disruption and of the value of real competition whatever any shady side of the company might be.
