It's really ridiculous to me because when Airbnb was first a thing I actually really liked using them. It felt like the prices were more reasonable and the hosts were generally a lot more welcoming. Recently this has really seemed to change. This may be in part because I live in a popular vacation area but the prices of an Airbnb on the coast for instance are super expensive and generally lacking in amenities. Recently I canceled an Airbnb in Seattle Washington because it was close to $250 a night and after I booked my stay I was emailed an extensive list of rules about the property. Generally I'm pretty cool with whatever the host wants, it is their house and I want to respectful. However one thing that really stuck out to me was that the host made a point of saying that if you stained any of the face washing towels that you would be charged $40 a washcloth which just felt ridiculous to me after the already high price per night.
