  There are many chiptune artists writing music with game boy software, even doing live performance with them. A personal favorite is Klirre: https://klirre.bandcamp.com/track/sajuuk-over-and-over https://klirre.bandcamp.com/track/sajuuk-over-and-over Album description says that this song was "written on a classic DMG Gameboy using Nanoloop 1.7."
