Big rigs use air breaks to apply breaking but also have spring breaks for parking. Compressed air not only allows for the application of the running breaks but also keeps the spring breaks open. In the event of a system failure (insufficient/no air pressure) the running breaks fail but the spring breaks engage.
- dragonwriter 5y agoPedantic, but 7 times in one post suggest wrong-word rather than typo: “brakes”/“braking” not “breaks”/“breaking”.
