1 in 4 Americans Thinks the Sun Revolves Around the Earth (2014)
- uberman 5y agoI would not read too much into this. Survey takers will intuit the "real" questions behind your survey and will answer them. If you ask: Does the Sun go around the Earth? Did the universe began with a huge explosion? Did human beings develop from earlier species of animals? What you are really asking is an unstated question about religion. That unstated question is what people answered and 25% are being mocked for it. Note: I am an atheist.
- verdverm 5y agoPeople have also started giving answers for the lulz, so I don't put any weight on these things anymore.
- s1artibartfast 5y agoI mean, it is all relative, man... On a more serious note, here are the highlights: https://www.nsf.gov/statistics/seind14/index.cfm/chapter-7/c7h.htm https://www.nsf.gov/statistics/seind14/index.cfm/chapter-7/c...
- belter 5y agoAlthough the Sun does not revolve around the Earth, without getting too technical, its worth to mention that also neither the Earth does revolve around the Sun... Just to clarify: "Technically, Earth Does Not Orbit Around the Sun" https://www.realclearscience.com/blog/2014/08/technically_the_earth_does_not_orbit_the_sun.html https://www.realclearscience.com/blog/2014/08/technically_th...
