I think that crypto is still going through it's early stages. There are many problems to overcome, such as mining which wastes huge amounts of energy. One problem I'm working to overcome is safety during buying and selling cryptocurrencies. It's very easy to make a mistake when buying/selling, especially for inexperienced users. Even experienced users also make mistakes. The answer is automated trading, which has more safety built-in. As the article mentioned, we are 14 years in which is not "early stage". 14 years after the first browser we had: Google, WordPress, ...

  5 years after most people were not aware of crypto, maybe ever later than that. The stage of something can't be determined by a number of years.

    Useful things get adopted pretty fast. Except when it's too early for eg. The hardware ( tablet and ml come to mind)
