Is "ATL" "A Tensor Language" a homage to "APL" "A Programming Language" from Iverson?
- igameu 5y agoOf course ATL is a homage to Ken Iverson's APL. His language treated multidimensional matrices up to 64 dimensions as single variables to be manipulated in single steps, thus creating a language that performed many steps in a short space and time. He was a farm-bred Canadian, first in his town to ever go to college, whose thinking was brilliant!
