Obviously each air tag is associated with an iCloud account, so this could be quite an effective move on Apples part.
- netsharc 5y agoA less charitable reading is "We've had at least 1 solid case of criminal use of the AirTag that lead to arrest and charge.".
- tgsovlerkhgsel 5y agoWhy would that be less charitable? Many things can be abused criminally. Arrest and charges are how our society deals with it if someone does. Deterrence prevents crimes in many cases. Not all, but many.
- netsharc 5y agoIt's not common for many companies to admit that their product was used for crime, and here is one, in a PR piece about "We care sooo much about our users' safety!"
