What I really need is a .DS_Store in every directory on my Mac
- warning26 5y agoI don't get how Apple got this so wrong, and how they continue to get it wrong, even after getting the change to fix it when moving from HFS+ to APFS.
- ksaj 5y agoIt greatly speeds up graphical display of the directory contents. Windows 10 can take a really long time re-generating thumbnails every time you open a directory filled with images or videos.
- selfhoster11 5y agoSo does the ~/.cache and ~/. thumbnails directory on Linux, but at least all the thumbnails are kept away from the main body of data.
- edoggie 5y agoI agree, lots of stupid things they never seem to fix on Mac OS, and every version of the system adds more useless cruft. Long for the days with a no-new-features release where they actually go and make things good.
