I know nothing about the Palestinian conflict but I have to say that a lot of what you are saying is repeated by Europeans about Roma people and about other Europeans who happen to be a sizable minority in another European country. It almost seems like it's better to be a minority than a majority. I don't know if that's factual or not, but it doesn't seem that way, the simplest answer would be that is just pure tribalism.
