The impact of all of that $$$ and vertical integration on hardware and software quality is not to be ignored. Apple Silicon in particular is an astonishing development after years of Qualcomm/Intel dominance. The only real issue I have with Apple Silicon is that since it isn't open hardware that anybody can buy, I can't run my own software on A-series chips. At least M-series chips are opening up slowly to Linux, though.
