Yeah, I (male) recognized jacquard, but only in the context of the Jacquard loom and superficial awareness that they're programmable textile making machines.
- sjburt 5y agoMy guess is that most men would know it as a loom and most women would know it as a type of fabric. I wonder if jacquard fabric is still produced on anything resembling a jacquard loom.
- relaxing 5y agoJacquard looms are still in use and the principle is the same, they’re just constructed with modern materials and the patterns are CNC driven instead of punched cards :)
