Author here, happy to discuss! I hope it wasn't too confusing or seem like I'm trying to say one is necessarily better. Rather, I just wanted to raise some questions and look at porting/translation from a more abstract, higher-level view.
- rat9988 5y agoI couldn't read past this paragraph > Hold your flames and passioned arguments please! I’m not here to make the case for one side or the other or throw my hands up to say “it doesn’t matter,” but to attempt to go beyond our surface arguments and see where that may lead us. I felt antagonized and left. Maybe it's me, but maybe it did affect more than one reader. I let you have this n=1 datapoint.
- podiki 5y agoAntagonized? Certainly not my intent, just wanted to be heard out, considering this topic can get pretty heated in these circles. So really my intention was the opposite of your reaction :(
- karmakaze 5y agoMaybe if it was titled any way other than `vs.` it could have had a less polarizing effect. Clickbait has its costs. And of course there's differences. The real question is when/how much do they matter.
