- dang 5y agoThere are a few exceptions and/or borderline cases. Press releases are one. The best third-party article on a story is usually better than a corporate press release. Past explanations (in a corporate context, not a government one, but I don't think that makes a difference here): https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&sort=byDate&type=comment&query=corporate%20press%20release%20by:dang https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&sor... Btw I realize that it can be frustrating when the guidelines aren't applied in the most obvious way, but they aren't mechanical rules, and there are tons of edge cases we've learned how to deal with over the years. The intention is always to foster the intended spirit of intellectual curiosity, not to have a strictly rule-bound system. https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&query=by%3Adang%20spirit%20letter&sort=byDate&type=comment https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu... It would be way too much to try to list all these edge cases in the guidelines (or anywhere else really) but we're always happy to answer questions.
- Kaibeezy 5y agoOK. Even though not corporate, I agree it does have that same lightness.

- pulse7 5y ago59 megajoules (MJ) = 16.4 kWh. For comparison: Tesla Model 3 (Standard Range) has 60 kWh battery. So they made about 1/4 of the full Tesla Model 3 battery.
- mklarmann 5y agoAccording to Wikipedia (German) the Wendelstein 7-X already did 150 mega joules of "sustained fusion" [1]. So how is this record breaking? [1]: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendelstein_7-X https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendelstein_7-X
