It doesn't need custom rules, but there are a variety of filter sets available on the "Filter lists" configuration page which may not be enabled by default. (Try enabling the filters under the "Annoyances" category.) But first, make sure all the filters are updated (click the "Update Now" button on the filters page if it's enabled).
