I talked to them. They are like a great many people today - they believe they get to chose their own reality, to have their own alternative facts. In effect, to bully reality. They're right about the provincial and federal governments having spewed a lot of misinformation as fact (virus no risk to Canada, masks don't work, natural immunity not strong, we'll never have a mask mandate 'cause it wouldn't work, etc, etc), but they don't know what a killed virus vaccine is, or why we're waiting for 'em. (2000 different COVID-19 proteins vs maybe 4 in an RNA vaccine.)
They are giving the police more to do just when, in my city, the main police station is literally shuttered due to COVID, and the regular phone line of the police, yesterday during the day, was dead - no ring no answer. (911 services still available, and you can fill in an online form - very zombie apocalypse.) Not good, not super sane, and they have been very, very loud. Just before the end of substantial restrictions, anyway, they have to throw a fit.
Everybody gets their own opinion, nobody (govt or freelancers) gets to have their own facts.
