In the wild world of NFTs, you can now own an actual color
- themodelplumber 5y agoCasual NFT onlooker here. Is there still an issue of ownership being stolen with some modicum of technical effort? Are there solutions to that? Are any insurers getting in on this yet?
- omarfarooq 5y agoFounder of the Color Museum (https://color.museum https://color.museum) here. Do you mean insurance for Color NFT holdings, or NFT insurance in general?
- themodelplumber 5y agoThanks for your reply. Please speak to both if you can--I appreciate any insights you can share.
- omarfarooq 5y agoFor general NFT insurance: it seems early discussions of the need for this have started: https://www.pillsburylaw.com/en/news-and-insights/insurance-nft.html https://www.pillsburylaw.com/en/news-and-insights/insurance-.... Likely large providers such as Coinbase will roll NFT insurance and custody into their existing crypto projects, for premium collections with sufficient liquidity and cultural status. Should Color NFTs reach values that make obtaining insurance on it rational, then I'm sure we will see such activity. As for the possibility of stealing Color NFTs or NFTs in general, unsophisticated users could be tricked in confidence scams to reveal their Ethereum private key which controls access to their NFTs.
