EFF to Appeals: Apple’s Monopoly Doesn’t Make Users Safer
- lux 5y agoI appreciate the EFF injecting their take on this case. I'm not an app store developer at the moment so I have no skin in the game re Epic vs Apple, but I do feel developers shouldn't have to pay almost 1/3 of their gross revenue to phone makers or any directory of apps for sale for a service they could find quality versions of elsewhere for a low single-digit cut. I see it as akin to turning indie developers into a renter class, and Apple's recent 27% fee reduction feels really condescending towards the developers that bring a wide diversity of choice and capability to their hardware.
