As a job hopping addict I guess I can sympathize. Maybe I am also too self centered as has been suggested about the author. Having worked at faangs and also with ex Shopify people, I am not thrilled with the life of a dev at these places. Get ready to churn and waste a lot of time. Get ready for multiple rewrite projects to be up in the air. Get ready for hypocrisy as older devs defend very legacy systems that were poorly written ostensibly in the name of reuse but mostly because they want their fingerprint to remain in the code. To me alot of what goes in these companies is highly inefficient if not down right pointless. But the salaried life is addicting and you can't easily come off it.
