I will always optimize career decisions based on a position's potential to improve my ability as a developer. I will optimize for this over title, benefits, and pay. Why is Shopify offering well below-market compensation? Also, this makes it sound like the author is "optimizing" for an internship, not a job. In a successful job role, you don't need to optimize for one of those factors over the others, you get most/all of them.
