Years of experience may not be a direct indicator of how you work as an individual contributor, but it is a very good indicator of softer skills such as handling workplace conflicts and mentoring junior devs.
As a senior dev it's on you to communicate and voice what you want out of the job. 6 month is the perfect time to pull aside your manager and ask/talk about your path of success.
Of course, leaving isn't a bad solution, but you should also realize there are other solutions. And being a senior dev means being able to weigh the tradeoffs and figure out the best path forward. However, the author failed to mention or reflect on the alternative solutions in the post.
