This is like sharing popcorn when the playground bully picks on a kid you don't like.
- samwillis 5y agoNo this is like sharing popcorn when the playground bully chases a kid you like but trips over his own feat and falls flat on his face. The point is its embarrassing the lengths Apple are going to to try to maintain the status quo.
- unfocussed_mike 5y agoThat has not happened yet.

- mccorrinall 5y agoI believe you’re misinterpreting it. Pretty sure it’s meant sarcastic since even satire magazines like the onion couldn’t make this up. The germans actually have a word for this: “realsatire”. It means when reality writes better satirical tragedies than anyone of us ever could.
- unfocussed_mike 5y agoI don't think I'm misinterpreting that he appears to be gleeful at the trolling. He thinks it is funny.
- scarface74 5y agoSeeing that he is one of the most popular indy app developers, I assure you he isn’t happy with Apple’s App Store policies. https://marco.org/2021/06/03/developer-relations https://marco.org/2021/06/03/developer-relations
- unfocussed_mike 5y agoI well understand that he's a popular indy developer. He can still be wrong. I also understand that he's _laughing_ at Apple trolling a regulator by messing with other developers. It's a fairly toxic addition to the discussion.
- scarface74 5y agoHe is a developer and I just posted a blog post showing he is definitely not on Apple’s side. He complains about Apple’s treatment of developers all of the time on both of his podcasts.
- asddubs 5y agono, i think it's more of a cynic's laugh. After all, the better comparison is that this is like laughing when the playground bully picks on you.
- raydev 5y agoNo, it's sharing the popcorn when the bully picks on everyone, and it's just someone else's turn to be bullied this week.
