"PECR also applies to ‘similar technologies’ like fingerprinting techniques. Therefore, unless an exemption applies, any use of device fingerprinting requires the provision of clear and comprehensive information as well as the consent of the user or subscriber."
- Gwypaas 5y agoI would rather see it as a way to easily demonstrate why GPDR is not simply about cookies and their management. It concerns any method of creating an identifier which would allow for tracking.
- kwhitefoot 5y agoWhy sadly? Why would you want to fingerprint users browsers anyway?
