Nice to have such an easy and sheltered life. Chicago in the 1960s and 1970s had actual threats, for example, bet you didn’t have a rando follow you a couple blocks and pop you as you’re fishing for your keys, kids chase you yelling “Honky” (white guy here), etc.
On the other hand, SF is the only place I’ve heard someone shot to death (6 shots right outside my window, counted) so it’s in competition.
